Beginning the following school year, a new training program will be required of all teachers. President William Ruto is likely to adopt the advisory panel’s suggestions and approve the training program. This will in turn make sure that teachers are informed about changes to the school curriculum.
The advisory council has highlighted how crucial it is for all instructors to receive new training on the curriculum changes. On August 1st, 2023, the President will receive the report and these recommendations at the State House. This training is anticipated to last a full year.
In order to correspond with the curriculum revisions, the group has also recommended that the Ministry of Education create rules for required one-year retooling and upgrading programs for instructors who received their degrees before 2023.

Educational institutions will need to set up extensive Faculty Staff programs in order to implement this retooling program in order to get ready for competency-based teacher preparation.
A minimum grade of C (simple) has also been suggested by the task committee for candidates for pre-service teacher education. This policy intends to increase the number of new teachers entering the sector while also improving their quality.
The committee has also suggested that candidates for teaching positions should have a C (simple) grade in addition to a diploma in special needs education, a diploma in technical teacher education, or a diploma in secondary teacher education.
The Teachers Service Commission will give all education graduates the chance to take part in a required one-year internship program after completing pre-service training, although university senates will continue to have the authority to set admission standards for programs leading to a Bachelor of Education degree.
