A JSS teacher training program is being launched by the teachers service commission, and it will start in October. The Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) and Competency Based Assessment (CBA) will be the main topics of this course.
The Commission has identified the following teachers for this training:

This is according to a document from the commission dated September 26 and sent to TSC Regional and County Directors.
From October 9 to 13, the training will be held in Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) and other designated county locations.
Importantly, note that the Kenya Institute of Special Education will host training sessions for Master Trainers from October 2–4.

Following their training of TOTs, these Master Trainers will instruct Curriculum Support Officers (CSOs), Teacher Educators (Tutors), TSC Sub-County Directors, and Ministry of Education quality assurance officers. The TOTs will receive training from October 6 through October 7 at several county locations as well as Teacher Training Colleges.
All of these in-person training sessions will be held in order to get ready for the 18,000 intern teachers that TSC recently appointed to junior secondary schools in late August and early September.
Additionally, students in Grade 7 will begin their national writing assessment in October, which will cover a variety of required and elective subjects with written tests from October 2 through October 26, 2023.
These include Life Skills Education, Pre-Technical and Pre-Career Education, Mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Agriculture, Social Studies, Visual and Performing Arts, CRE/IRE/HRE, Science and Technology, Kenyan Sign Language, Integrated Science, Computer Studies, Business Studies, and Life Skills Education.
