Big win to this category of teachers. Good news has been served to the markers of the 2022 KCPE and KCSE national examinations.
It is worth noting that the examiners were promised their payment last month but it was not fulfilled. They showed their disappointment and threatened to boycott this year’s marking unless their dues were paid on time.
This is after sh 2B was released by the national treasure to aid in paying all the exam markers. Other officials who took part in the examinations assessment process are also expecting their dues.
The instructors played a very important role in the evaluation process of our learners last year. This step is therefore termed as very crucial in recognizing the dedication and hard work of these educators.
The government through this disbursement has shown how committed it is in ensuring that it maintains transparency and fairness in the examinations system.
In addition, the treasury through this disbursement is aiming at attracting qualified professionals. It is also promoting active participation of these individuals in the assessment process. This is because most of the teachers had lost hope with the council when it did not fulfill its promise of paying examiners last month. In addition, the Kenya National Union of teachers (KNUT) had warned that they were going to boycott supervision and marking of examinations unless the Kenya national examinations council released their payment from last year’s exam manning.
This step also signals the government to recognize the role of the education ministry in developing the country.
As a result of the government’s investment in the examination process, high education standards will be achieved. A conducive learning environment is also created as a result.
The treasury is also targeting at enhancing the efficiency of the whole examination process. It also aims at preventing any expected delays that may arise as a result of payment issues.
The disbursement process is therefore expected to aid in improving of the Kenyan education system.
Big win to this category of teachers.
