Business courses to be scrapped from TVETs for STEM by MoE.
The Education Ministry is attempting to limit the number of business courses that TVETs offer, according to PS Esther Muoria.
On behalf of Education CS Machogu, the PS similarly noted that TVET is seeking a revolution in TVET institutions curricula.
This is carried out to encourage students to enroll in more STEM classes. Likewise, it equips graduates with the skills they need to be successful in the job market. The importance of practical instruction is gradually rising relative to theoretical instruction.

CS Machogu emphasized the need to increase STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) courses. He was rather against diminishing the preponderance of business courses in TVET institutes and technical training colleges.
Speaking on behalf of the sector, Muoria emphasized the importance of their mission to provide young people with practical skills. These competencies will mostly be taught in STEM courses in order to encourage industrialization in the country. Muoria emphasized the importance of technical course advancement in achieving this goal.
“At our TVET colleges, we wish to switch from theory-based to practice-based education. According to Cs Machogu, a very good computer science professor, we should reduce business courses and increase STEM courses in TVET institutions and technical training colleges in order to develop more competent youth.
“Our sector’s primary responsibility is ensuring that our youth have the necessary skills. According to Muoria, boosting technical education is the only way to industrialize the country.
The 154 TVET colleges around the country have so far been equipped with cutting-edge technology to enhance students’ skills.
Today, universities are expected to produce graduates who have the technical know-how and practical experience required to meet labor and industrial demands. Education system should therefore stretch up in order to meet the needs of the society extensively.
