By December 50000 Teachers will receive promotions.
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has stated that 50,000 teachers will receive promotions by the end of the year.
According to TSC Chairman Dr. Jamleck Muturi, 50,000 interns have already been hired this year after receiving Ksh1 billion. The hiring process formally began in March and will be completed in November 2023.
Dr. Jamleck met with stakeholders in the education sector at St. Teresa Girls Secondary School Kisumu. He later addressed the media stating that some of the issues that emerged from the meeting included:
- a lack of staff
- mental health difficulties
- staff discipline.
The Commission Chairperson afterwards gave them assurance that the Commission would dedicate itself to addressing the issues they identified.
He also claimed that resolving the issues will guarantee that kids obtain a quality education. This is obvious since a happy teacher is better able to address students’ requirements.
