Directors arrested after candidates drown.
Two Amazement Park directors in Uasin Gishu have been placed under arrest in connection with the untimely death of five KCPE students who were enjoying a leisure excursion at an artificial reservoir.
PS Belio Kipsang visited Arap Moi Primary School and the site of the horrific drowning of five KCPE candidates in Uasin Gishu County when their boat overturned.
Kipsang stated that the event is being looked into and will be dealt with legally going forward. He offered prayers for the other students sitting their examinations at the school, as well as for the afflicted families, expressing his profound grief over the incident.
One candidate who survived the accident, according to Kipsang, was released from the hospital and is currently taking the test.
Benjamin Mwanthi, the commander of Uasin Gishu police, acknowledged these arrests and stated that the inquiry is still ongoing while the two are pursuing legal action.
Just before the national exams on Monday, a group of five KCPE aspirants were having a relaxing day when their boat overturned.
Ezekiel Machogu, the cabinet secretary for education, announced that his department is working with the interior ministry to carry out “in-depth and comprehensive investigations into the incident.”
The five pupils were part of a group of Standard Six and Standard Eight students who were visiting a hotel for leisure activities with their professors, according to a police report.
Five Standard Eight kids tragically lost their lives in the drowning event, while a Standard Six student who was still alive was evacuated to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital by emergency personnel because of a serious oxygen deficit.

Governor Jonathan Bii of Uasin Gishu sent his sympathies to the bereaved families in the meantime and promised to support them in ensuring the deceased received a dignified sendoff from the county government.
Kipsang stressed that the Arap Moi School pupils are now taking their exams and have received counseling in the wake of the incident. Regardless of the fallout from this regrettable event, he promised that they would do everything in their power to encourage the kids to fully participate in their tests.
According to Kipsang, the tests went well in every school in the area. In order to guarantee the smooth running of the tests, he further disclosed that he had met with the local security teams. While there were some minor delays due to rain in some regions, Kipsang noted that there were no major difficulties as the tests started.
He stressed that great effort would be made by the Uasin Gishu multi-agency team to resolve the issue at the school affected by the disaster.
