Final school calendar for 2023 academic year including KCPE, KPSEA and KCSE exams. The system of education in Kenya is monitored by the national government through the ministry of education. MoE is currently headed by education cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu.
Under the whole system of education in Kenya, we have sub systems. These subsystems include primary schools, secondary schools and also institutions of higher learning.
The ministry of education carries the responsibility of drafting a timeline in which all activities in Kenyan schools are conducted. In an academic year according to the ministry of education, we have three terms. The ministry of education provides dates that guides all education institutions across the country to know when there is an half term break, when there is a national holiday break , when the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and also Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) are to be conducted.
Currently, schools are in the middle of their second term. Many schools are expected to break for half term next week according to the ministry of education timelines.
The second term according to the ministry of education started on 8th of May and will end on 11th of August this year. This brings it to around 14 weeks for the second term.
The school calendar also points that second term’s half term break will start on June 27 and end on July 1. The half term break will therefore take almost a half a week.
Learners are thereafter expected to report back to school on 1st of July to continue with the remaining part of the term. The second term will end on 11th of August this year.
