Over 900,000 Form Four applicants are sitting the KCSE exam, which started today across the nation. Notably, in contrast to prior years, the Teacher Service Commission (TSC) has issued a new regulation specifying that the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examination will be supervised and invigilated exclusively by secondary school teachers. A total of 101,376 secondary school teachers have been hired to oversee the exam at all examination locations across the country, according to TSC head Nancy Macharia.
Two helicopters have been sent to the Coast region to help with the delivery of exam materials in response to the difficulties posed by heavy rains that have rendered several examination locations inaccessible. The last day of the KCSE exams is set for November 24, 2023.
