Governor Sakaja orders demolition of MCA building in Nairobi
In other news, Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja ordered demolition of a building in Eastleigh siting that it is linked to land grabbing. The residents had complained of the building that it was erected by a crooked businessman on a Nairobi MCA backing.
According to reports, Nairobi county Chief officer in charge of health facilities Geoffrey Mosiria led the citizens in lodging complaint. They were urging the governor to act immediately, and demolition began soon after.
The MCA claims that the governor became quick in action since he (MCA) had uncovered the graft case of Sakaja on City Hall.
However, sub-county medical officer Dr. Miriam Etole had defended the governor. She claimed that city hall had an obligation to defending developmental public land from grabbing.
According to Miriam, Eastleigh health centre offers a variety of health services ranging from curative, maternal, neonatal child health services to gender-based violence response unit.
Contrary to this, the MCA accessed the building on Christmas celebrations demolishing it. The governor could therefore be on revenge mission.
