Early this year, the Kuppet chairperson omboko Milemba confirmed that the pending bills were inclusive of the KCSE examiners’ pay as well as their acting allowance.
In addition, he commented on the poor living standards of teachers. He faulted the government for that because he believed that the condition is brought about by state related debts.

While addressing this issue, the education CS confirmed that they have received the money. They will forward the money to the Kenya national examinations council (KNEC)which will therefore share the money among examiners.
Machogu also assured that everyone will get his share and that going forward, this issue will be given priority. He said this because the government has delayed in releasing the money. In addition, he said that they were able to acquire this cash with the help of Kenyan president William Ruto.
On top of that, the work environment of examiners will be improved and their payments made in time. The CS spoke these while at the Kangaru School where he had visited on a career mentorship day.
According to him, examiner payment had delayed because of inadequate budgetary allocation to the KNEC by the working government.
From the latest budget, KNUT received a total amount of sh.5 billion for examiners waiver both in primary and secondary schools.
