Government to employ 20000 intern teachers annually. The Kenyan president Dr William Ruto has revealed that the government is going to hire 20,000 intern instructions every year.
While attending the signing of performance contracts for principal and cabinet secretaries on Tuesday 1st August, the president revealed that this plan of employing teacher interns is not only targeted at creating opportunities for jobless Kenyans but also to fulfil a pledge that was made five years ago.
In addition, Ruto promised to keep commitment on internship this time. He also said that they have already engaged the private sector and arrived at an agreement that the Kenyan government will be delivering approximately 20,000 internships every year.
The head of state also promised that unlike other unfulfilled promises, the government will heed its pledge this time.
In addition, the president said that the government is looking forward to working in industrial attachments. This process will give interns the opportunity to apply the skills acquired from class in the job market.
Many young Kenyan who are finishing their higher education will therefore be given a ground to exercise their skills. This will give them a chance to practice whatever they learnt for the period they were in school. In addition, these learners will have a chance of acquiring more skills as well as finding their way into employment and to the job market.

Earlier this year, the public service commission (PSC) announced 8,000 opportunities for graduates wishing to do their internship under the Public Service Internship Program (PSIP).
For one to qualify for internship, they were required to issue a requisite documentation of a bachelor’s degree. They must have studied any discipline and also attended a recognized Kenyan institution.
